Extra Points – What Are You Hiding?

14_02_DanCapJackRetouch_001This week’s focus point…What Are You Hiding?

This past weekend, our family held a fun little HalloWeedin Party at our house. We had a few friends and neighbors over and dressed up in fun costumes. I came as Clark Kent, with the famous Superman shirt being displayed as if I was just emerging from the phone booth.

Dressing up in costumes is always fun because you get to “pretend” you are someone else for a short time. Eventually, the real you comes out. The same is true in our regular daily lives. Here’s what I mean…

It’s very easy to hide what we don’t want to reveal to the world. Sometimes we even hide things – often truths – from ourselves. We can kid others and ourselves, but just like a costume party, the truth often reveals itself eventually. We our best unleashed when we are honest with ourselves. Trying to be someone we’re not becasue we think we are supposed to, or we want to please someone else seldom works. You are always going to be your best when you are simply yourself.

Welcome to the most powerful and dynamic program I’ve ever created for business owners and executive leaders on unleashing your vast potential and maximizing your own unique talent and that of those around you.

My concept of the “open gate” is that unlike dogs, we as humans often tether ourselves inside our own personal gates and due to our own self-imposed limitations and fears, choose not to risk going through the open gate in front of us. The results include dissatisfaction, low self-esteem, poor leadership, bad morale, inefficiencies, and boredom. Bottom line is you and your business leave money and talent on the table.
